Ottawa Chapter - I would like to remind everyone that the IAHE Ottawa Chapter Holiday Party is scheduled for next Friday (February 3) at Maddie’s Lookout in Seneca (details below).  We have gotten a good initial response but right now I have almost as many District 1 employees signed up as District 3 employees so it’s time to step it up.  Please RSVP to Dave Alexander by Friday January 27

Maddie’s Lookout is located south of the Illinois River, west of Illinois 170. The restaurant is above the Spring Brook Marina Showroom.  Turn north from River road at the big brick sign for the Marina.

The bar will honor their Friday special of $1 domestic bottles.   Dinner will include Italian Beef, Mosticolli, and various sides.  There will be a DJ from 7-9 PM and the owner is bringing in Marty “Big Dog” Mercer to play blues from 9PM to midnight.  There will be raffles and give-aways and maybe a game (anyone with ideas let me know).  This event is open to members and their guests. Please RSVP to Dave Alexander.  The cost will be $10.00 per person in advance, $12.00 per person after January 31^st.  Please RSVP to Dave Alexander by Friday January 27 as the owner intends to purchase most of the food over the weekend.

The IDOT District Office Christmas party hosted by the Effingham Chapter of the Illinois Association of Highway Engineers and  the District 7 Canteen Fund, was held on January 21, 2012 at the Knights of Columbus Hall.  It featured a delicious meal catered by Niemerg Steakhouse, and entertainment by TG Rivers Hypnotist and DJ Jarod Vogt.  Two $50.00 door prizes were awarded by random drawing. Winners were Phil Nosbisch and  Mike Sowers. Door prize tickets were given out in exchange for each  item collected for a local food bank.  Catholic Charities received 451 items from the event.    Winners Picture
