Membership

As a member of the Illinois Association of Highway Engineers, you will have the ability to network with other professionals in the transportation-related field statewide. In addition, you will be afforded the opportunity to be involved in the integration of public and private ideas for infrastructure improvement. Also, you have the ability to promote educational ideas for scholarship programs in Civil Engineering. Following are the types of memberships available through the Illinois Association of Highway Engineers: Voting Member, Honorary Member and Corporate Member. If you are interested in obtaining a membership, or have questions concerning the Association, please contact a Director in your area.

Voting Member - A voting member has full rights of membership. A voting member must be a current, full or part-time employee of the Illinois Department of Transportation who is engaged in technical duties; or, a member who leaves the Department, but continues to work for an Illinois public transportation agency.

Honorary Member - An Honorary Member has the right to serve on Chapter committees. A voting member for five (5) years immediately preceding retirement, and is retired from active service of the Department of Transportation of Illinois through provisions of State Employees Retirement System; or, a voting member with twenty-five (25) years of Department service leaves the Department of Transportation employment and was a member for fifteen (15) years immediately preceding separation.

Corporate Membership - The State Board pondered several ways to increase membership, not only at the Chapter level, but also at the statewide level.  One of the ways to implement membership statewide was to implement a Corporate Membership. Listed below are the three levels of Corporate Membership, the cost of each, and the benefits that are associated with each membership.
