Warren Norris – Director Ottawa Chapter

I have been an IAHE member since 2000 and was voted to be a Director in 2003. I have served on all of the committees at one time or another. I am the Sr. Traffic Signal Technician in Ottawa. I served as the Chairman of the IAHE board for 4 years with some of the best board members (in my opinion) in the IAHE’s history. I feel privileged being the first and only non-engineer being elected to hold the Chairmanship of this organization. During this time as the Chairman, the IDOT was going through huge changes in administration. We did our best to help show them what professionalism was by helping IDOT’s newly hired engineers how to conduct themselves in the office and in the field.

In my spare time I raise honey bees. I also help promote saving the bees by teaching kids during Earth Week about pollinators and how important they are to our food source at different events. I have taught classes at the local Junior College on bees and am the president of the local beekeeping association. During Earth Day every year I organize area children to cleanup and recycle trash along streets and area parks. Along with this I also enjoy shooting my 1969 Bear Super Kodiak recurve bow for target practice.

I am married to my wonderful wife Jackie and we like to travel, golf, walk, cycle, and play with our grandson any and every chance we get.
